A new AI skill mapping, commissioned by Technology Industries of Finland and AI Finland, offers a unique perspective on the current and emerging demand for AI competencies in Finland and among global AI-driven companies and organizations. Based on thousands of job postings and research articles, the study highlights key differences in how AI is perceived as a business enabler — and what kinds of skills are actually being recruited. The findings were presented in a joint webinar with AI Finland, featuring Nordea’s Krista Korelin, who provided a valuable practical perspective on how the AI transformation is already reshaping skill needs within a major Nordic bank — and more broadly across the Finnish business landscape.
The results are available in an interactive PowerBI presentation:

This visualization highlights key findings from the AI skill mapping and allows you to explore data results and especially differences in more depth.
AI Finland’s website also offers complementary analysis and reflections on the findings in Finnish: https://aifinland.fi/osaamiskartoitus/
Together, these resources provide a strong foundation for understanding Finland’s current position — and where we might go next.
Thank you to everyone for joining and for your active participation in the discussion. We warmly encourage you to explore the results further, ask questions, challenge the insights, and build on them. This is just the beginning of a shared development journey.
In a rapidly changing world, developing AI capabilities requires more than intuition — it demands insight, foresight, and shared understanding to support smart, future-proof decision-making. We hope these results offer one step toward building that common ground.
